KARIKA / Products / Bespoke Ceilings / Baffles
Bespoke Ceilings · BafflesSymmetry, suspended above the room.
Acoustic baffles in polyester felt, hung from the slab. Linear runs for open studios, curved waves for lobbies, orthogonal grids for measured rooms, parametric arrays where the architecture asks for it. One language, every rhythm. Choose from our standard designs and 94 colours, or commission a bespoke configuration.
Engineered to specify with confidence.
Twelve qualities that make KARIKA a reliable specification. Acoustically performant, materially honest, and quietly designed for the spaces architects build.
-
Performance
What it does to sound, vibration and heat.
Acoustical
NRC up to 1.00 with deep baffle and cavity. Fins absorb on both faces.
Buffered
Layered fibre dampens impact and structure-borne sound.
Insulation
Thermal insulator. Contributes to building energy performance.
-
Composition
Materially honest. Recycled, fire-safe, zero off-gassing.
Recycled
75% post-consumer recycled PET. Fully recyclable at end of life.
Fire-Rated
Naturally fire-resistant. No chemical retardants required.
No VOC
Zero volatile organic compounds. Heat-bonded, no chemical binders.
-
Surface
94 colours, accepts print, is tackable.
Decorative
94 colours. Mix shades across runs for colour-block, gradient or stripe.
Printable
Surface accepts direct digital print and custom graphic application.
Tackable
Holds pins. Doubles as a wall and a pinboard.
-
Practicality
What a contractor needs to handle on site.
Light Weight
Even 25 mm fibre fins stay under the load any standard cable suspension carries.
Easy Install
Aircraft-cable suspension with adjustable height, concealed anchors. Pre-cut to set lengths.
Ventilate
Open ceiling preserved between fins. HVAC, sprinklers and services stay accessible.
Ninety-four colours, one library.
The full standard range, codes KA-7901 to KA-7995. Click any tile for a larger view. Physical swatches are posted by the studio at no cost within India.

Four patterns, one language.
The same fibre fin, drawn four ways. Linear runs, curved waves, orthogonal grids, parametric arrays. Depth, spacing and length are set against the room. Not selected from a sheet.
Standard fin thickness 9 / 12 / 25 mm; depth 50–300 mm depending on pattern. Aircraft-cable suspension with concealed anchors. Lengths and pitch are bespoke. Cut to the studio's drawing.
Both faces absorb.
Suspended baffles absorb on both faces. The cavity behind the fin is the room itself. Deeper fins and tighter pitch lift the headline NRC. Per-cavity figures track the same fibre as plain panel. The geometry is what changes.
| Configuration | 9 mm fin | 25 mm fin |
|---|---|---|
| Wide pitch (200 mm) | NRC 0.55 | NRC 0.75 |
| Standard pitch (100 mm) | NRC 0.78 | NRC 0.88 |
| Tight pitch (50 mm) | NRC 0.85 | NRC 0.92 |
| Grid (cross-hatch) | NRC 0.88 | NRC 0.95 |
Two-faced absorption is the trick. A baffle suspended in air takes sound on both sides. The open ceiling becomes the cavity. That's why a 25 mm fin at standard pitch outperforms a 12 mm direct-mount panel.
An acoustic panel stays an acoustic panel.
Suspended fibre is dimensionally stable. Fins do not droop, sag or curl. Colour is dyed into the fibre before it is spun. It does not fade under normal interior light, dust off, or shed.
- Cleaning
- Vacuum the bottom edge with a soft-brush head. Baffles collect less dust than flat ceilings. Spot-clean with a damp cloth and pH-neutral detergent.
- Moisture
- PET acoustic does not absorb water unless submerged. Wipe dry. Our acoustic baffles do not warp, mould or harbour bacteria.
- UV
- Direct sunlight fades any dyed material over time. KARIKA acoustic panel is rated for interior use only.
- Allergens
- None known. Hypoallergenic and low-VOC. Used in hospitals, schools and clinics.
- Warranty
- Two years against workmanship and manufacturing defects, including suspension hardware.
- End of life
- Fully recyclable. Fins return to the PET fibre stream. Aluminium suspension hardware is recovered separately.
